My internship is in a rural area of Minnesota, so I get to move from the heart of the Twin Cities metro area (population over 3 million) to Dennison, Minnesota (population 160). It’s only about 45 minutes away, but it will be a whole different world!
I grew up in an Iowa town of 5,000 so I’m no stranger to small-town life, but 5,000 is quite different from 160. And it’s been over 10 years since I lived in a metro area smaller than 100,000.
I’m excited about the change in scenery, though…check out the beautiful surroundings I’ll get to enjoy!
(First three photos are by Rachel Roushey, taken through the window of a moving car!)
Big changes

160 is so small! You'll know everyone by name!
