Now that Media and Technology in Christian Education is done (the class anyway...I'm certainly not done engaging the topic!), it's time to take this blog in a new direction.
I've finished my first two years of classes at Luther Seminary, and in a few weeks I'll begin a year as a pastoral intern. It's my chance to get out of the classroom for a while and see how I can integrate what I've learned with what's actually happening in the parish.
...Or maybe I should say in the parishes. During my internship, I'll be serving eight rural and small-town congregations in the Southeast Minnesota Synod of the ELCA. This group of congregations is not a unified eight-point parish. A couple pairs are yoked (sharing a pastor, etc.) but otherwise they each have their own pastors and programming. The group as a whole only shares the intern.
The fact that they've been doing this for over 30 years is evidence of their deep commitment to participating in the raising up of new leaders for the church, and I'm very excited to work with them!
Look for an upcoming series of posts from my recent tour of the eight churches, and join me as I chronicle this new adventure in my personal and pastoral development!
